Our Disney/Pixar Wall-E & Eve Costumes

Disney/Pixar Wall-E & Eve Costumes

My son and I dressed up this year as his favorite, Wall-E and I was Eve! Disney/Pixar has there #1 fan with my family as we look forward to our yearly trips to Disney World in Florida.  Wall-E has been Nate's favorite since he was 2.  His favorite color is even yellow because of him and I think I have the entire movie memorized for watching it so much.  So when it came down to picking costumes out this year, we knew it would be Wall-E! And Nate was so excited when I agreed to be Eve.  I looked and looked online for him a costume but none seemed to look worth the money or easy enough to get in and out of the car for trick or treating.  So, off to Walmart we went and took a list of things to make our own costumes, and for under $25 a piece!  For the Wall-E costume, we bought a yellow short sleeved shirt, a grey long sleeve shirt, black sweatpants, grey gloves and a grey tobogan.  For the Eve costumes you will need a long sleeve black shirt, long sleeve or 3/4 sleeve white shirt, black leggings, black shorts, black gloves and a white tobogan.  We also bought a variety of colored felt squares and craft glue to cut out and glue together for all of the Wall-E buttons, eyes, and for Eve's eyes and green leaf button.  Here's the photos from the shoot!

Disney/Pixar Wall-E Themed Birthday Party

Nate's 4 yr old

Wall-E Themed Birthday Party

For my son's 4 yr old birthday, it had to be Wall-E themed! A few weeks earlier we did our Wall-E themed birthday shoot to go with his party and these photos were great to hang on a ribbon on the wall for everyone to see. Wall-E birthday things are very hard to find. They are not in stores but you can find some things online. Thanks to Pinterest, I was able to make most of these decorations. So, if you are planning a Wall-E party for your little one, here's some ideas...
You can find rolls of banner paper at your local craft store. The yellow and turquoise pots were in the $1 bin at Walmart and made great decorations that the kids could take home with them.
These photos were taken a couple of weeks before for his 4 yr old shoot. We incorporated his Wall-e toys and a shirt we had made at a beach vendor in Myrtle Beach as well as a small cake with the number 4 candle on it.

Cookies by: Phil's Sweet Hope Cookie Shoppe

White Lunch Bags from Walmart, Candy Bar Signs by Amber S. Wallace

Cupcakes by my friend, Naomi Hager. Cupcake Toppers from Ebay.

Wall-E masks
For the masks, I printed these out on cardstock and cut them out and then bough a packet of sticks in the Walmart craft section for $1.99 and then taped them to the backside of the mask to use for great photos!
Yellow bucket in the $1 bin at Target.

Bithday card by my 7 yr old neice, Maddy.
Robot Wall-E from Santa Clause, and I think he got it from Toys R Us,
but I'm pretty sure you can find them on Ebay now.

Nate's Wall-E Inspired Photo Shoot

Disney/Pixar

Wall-E Inspired Birthday Shoot
Nate Turns 4

When Nate was 2, we were getting ready to go to Disney World in a couple of
weeks and he watched the Wall-e Movie. And we had gotten our oldest son, Avery, a remote Wall-e for Christmas and Nate just loved it! We searched all over Disney world the next month, on our vacation, looking in the stores, asking cast members where we could find anything with Wall-e on it. I remember going in this store in EPCOT and Nate saw it across the room, jumped out of his stroller and ran up to the stuffed toys section and there he was. He found his stuffed Wall-e. And so he has been Nate's favorite for years and so we knew that this year's party had to be Wall-e themed. So, here's his "Turning 4" photo shoot!

It took us 6 years of trying to get our little Nate and we are blessed to have him in our family!

Your Photo Session: Themes, Clothes, Props & Locations

Ok, so you have booked a photo shoot and now there is the big task in front of you.... "WhAt Do I wEar?!?!"  I get asked this alot from my clients, and my first question is, "What is the theme or style that you are looking for?"  That answer will be the foundation to build on for your specific photo shoot.  A client books with a certain photographer because they like their personal photographic style and want that applied to their themes. My job, as your photographer, is to tell that specific themed story in our session, whether that is a family session in a field, or a bride and groom on their wedding day.

For the hour session or more, you may choose bring a change of clothing and do some dressy and some casual.  A great suggestion is to go out and buy a new outfit for your session.  Not only will these clothes be unique because no one has seen you in them before, but everyone feels good in a new set of clothes, and that will show in your photos.  The below is just a small list of all of the possibilities that can work in a photo shoot.

Guidelines for Your Photo Session
    1. Pick your style
What "Look" are you going for?
          - Dressy/Preppy
          - Casual/Playful
          - Vintage
          - Edgy

    2. Pick your Theme
This is just a small list of the possibilities!
          - Classic Family          - Retro
          - 70's hippy              - Vintage Anthropologie
          - Biker chic               - Farm life
          - 20's Flappers          - Tea party
          - My Birthday            - Senior Year
          - Summer Fun           - 50's bombshell beauty
          - Mall Shopping          - Ballerina
          - Enchanted Fairy       - Movie inspired
          - Family Picnic            - Country Christmas

    3. Pick your props to bring
           - Old suitcases           - Bouquet of fresh flowers
           - Umbrellas                - Old chair
           - Handmade kites       - Cupcakes, over-sized lollipops
           - Bunch of balloons     - Picnic baskets
           - Teddy Bears/Dolls     - Hats/Scarfs/Sun Glasses/Ties
           - Block letters             - Antique car, truck, bicycle or wagon
           - Quilt                        - Sports equipment
           - Animals

    4. Pick your location
            - Laundromat            - Open field
            - Horse Farm             - Pond or lake
            - The Mall                 - A Park
            - Downtown             - Old torn down house
            - Apple Orchard         - Garden Store
            - Barn                       - A bus
            - A Boat                    - Your house
            - Railroad Tracks         - Soda Shop/Ice Cream Shop
            - Any old colorful building
*To find out if any travel fees may be applied to your location,
just email the physical address and I will figure that up for you.

     5. Pick your colors
            - Stay away from very small busy lined patterns, words
              and logos on clothing.
            - Pick a color palette instead of everyone in the same color.
Different colors can compliment each other. Or pick a
color that can weave the different clothes together.
You can go with a soft color palette or a bold color palette.
            - Wear lots of colors, lots of layers, lots of textures
            - A great hint is to visit the mall and look in the store windows
to see which clothing they mixed and matched together in
their photo displays.  Remember, that company has hired a
stylist to piece together for their photo shoots, so you have
great ideas right at your finger tips!
